Cute zipper pouch tutorial

And I’m back! I’ll post up some of the things I made in January soon- maybe once I have my Instagram account up and running. I thought I’d bring in February with a tutorial post!

I’ve put this up on my Etsy to buy if you don’t want to make it yourself, but it’s pretty simple!

All you need is:

  • Outer fabric 15 inches x 11 inches
  • Lining fabric 15 inches x 11 inches
  • Zip at least 12 inches long

Your first step is to fold your fabric. You start by folding the outer fabric in half, wrong sides together, and then measure an inch and a half from the fold. You fold both sides, right sides together this time, leaving the little fold-dip at the bottom.

Stitch down the two sides and repeat the folding and stitching with your lining, leaving a hole in the side fot turning. make sure you leave half an inch unstitched at the top to sew on the zip.

Sew on your zip! Make sure to go over the ends of the zip and open it up before you sew it all up.

Turn through the hole and stitch the hole up!

And tada. One cute zipper pouch with a flat bottom.

Hope you enjoyed!
